Donald W. Dukeman memoir, 2002, undated.

The memoir depicts the life of an enlisted aircrew member from basic training to life in England and describes nine combat missions, including being shot down over Holland during Operation Market Garden. Dukeman describes his capture, evacuation to Stalag Luft IV, and life as a prisoner of war, during which he went on a fifty-three day march to avoid advancing Russian troops. He remained a prisoner for eight months and was released at the end of the war. He rotated to the United States and was discharged on 31 October 1945.
